I had a “ah ha” moment today as I looked out my apartment window at the incredible mountains towering above me, I realized that I’ve lived in Utah for the last 5 years and have hardly taken advantage of the countless outdoor adventures that this state has to offer. My husband and I will be moving away in a little over a year, so we’ve made it a point to make a list of all the Utah family recreation activities that we’ve wanted to do and then scheduled them into the next few months of summer. Just last weekend we went on a hike up to a gorgeous waterfall and I couldn’t believe that we’d lived her for so long and never even heard of the falls. Being outside is such a fun and exciting way to exercise, not to mention the emotional and spiritual benefits that come from being out in nature. So word to the wise, no matter where you live, search out the hidden adventures that every state has to offer. There are hikes, lakes and landmarks all over the United States… take advantage of them!
